Institute for Health and Society (Newcastle University)

By Tom Foley.

IHS is a health improvement institute that has traditionally been underpinned by, Health Economics, Health Psychology, Medical Sociology and Health Technology Evaluation and which is now developing a significant health informatics capability. These are among the key disciplines required to develop a LHS that embeds informatics within a genuine improvement cycle. It hosts the Learning Healthcare Project, funded by The Health Foundation and a Connected Health Cities Learning Health System collaboration focused on Vulnerable Families (described above).
