The KCL Biomedical Informatics Group is a multidisciplinary group of informaticians, clinicians, psychologists and computer scientists, researching the role of data and knowledge in medical research and practice. Their core area of interest is the LHS concept. They are developing software infrastructures to support LHS, mainly in primary care, and focusing on embedding RCTs into EHR systems and the decision support systems operating on EHR data. The tools are based on the outputs of the TRANSFoRm project (outlined above), and they are specifically looking at semantic interoperability, behavioural informatics around user experience in LHS applications, data provenance and research reproducibility. Another area of research is data mining of social media networks to predict userís mental health.
